Sherry started her career in local government and moved into the private sector after she obtained her Master's degree in Information Assurance/Cybersecurity. She has been in the security space for almost a decade.

As the president of WiCyS of Colorado, she is focusing on providing educational and networking events to support the community of women in security. Her vision for WiCyS Colorado is to be the central hub of all things cybersecurity.

Marcella has enjoyed the opportunities for connection with other women in the cybersecurity community WiCyS has offered her. She is enthusiastic about cybersecurity as a field and has gained a lot from mentorship and being a mentor, especially from and for other women.

Her sundry extracurricular interests include Toastmasters, the Denver Choir League, volunteering with Junior League of Denver and Advocates for Children CASA, dog sports, baking, learning about Cold War and espionage history, listening to pop culture podcasts, and reading.
